So I may not have studied cosmetology in school but I've surely learned a lot over the past 10+ years! Which is why I decided to share my make-up "must haves" with you. Now I consider these products to be the crème de la crème of cosmetics and I simply would not be able to survive without them! Most of the products are from my go-to spot for cosmetics and that is Sephora. I used to be a die hard MAC girl, but I went through a phase of bad break outs that occurred frequently. I felt as though that MAC was not concealing my blemishes as they should. More recently, I have switched my primary foundation system to Amazonian Clay by Tarte. It all began a few weeks before I was heading down to spring training to see Christian, and I was desperately in need of new make-up to cover up and most importantly, protect my skin from that Florida sun. I headed into my nearest Sephora and began telling the associate about my extremely sensitive skin. And I have to say, this was the first time that I've ever purchased any product and absolutely loved it. So that day, I purchased quite a few products from Tarte. All of which, are phenomenal! Now I won't bore you with all of the details, but I do want to share something interesting that I learned that day. One of my purchases that day was the Tarte Clean Slate Flawless 12-Hr Brightening Primer. That day I learned that primers can be silicone based or water based (maybe even some other things that I don't even know about). Regarding my skin and it's sensitivity, I was wearing the wrong primer that accentuated all the wrong things in all the wrong places. A water based primer will moisturize much better than a silicone base. If you wear or have worn a silicone based primer like MAC's prep+prime then you may have noticed that your foundation pulls to your T zone. Typically, because it is one of the zones on your face that contains the most oil. The solution: water based primer! But if you don't want to take my word for it, pop into Sephora and try any and every product your heart desires! Sephora will always let you try a product before you buy it, which is precisely why I love Sephora so darn much!
Head in to Sephora, grab some samples, and let me know what you think of my favorite cosmetics!
