3 Tips to Help with Creativity

Well, hello there.

First, let me start by saying thank you. Thank you for understanding about my very unannounced vacation from the blog. It was not planned but I certainly needed it. With all of the changes that have occurred, I was just left feeling so uninspired. Quite honestly, I have plenty of content to share with y'all but it's the perfectionist in me. I didn't want to share mediocre content just for the sake of doing so. But part of the reason that I've been feeling so uninspired is simple: LIFE. Life has been crazy in the best way possible. With the purchase of our new home, I'm focusing so much energy on that! I completely plan to share my decorating tips and photos of our home with y'all...once it's more put together. We're also expecting our last shipment of furniture and "stuff" from Pennsylvania on Wednesday. #SOEXCITED There are tons of new goodies in there from our wedding celebration that I can't even begin to remember what is EVEN in there. But perhaps, I'll unbox some of the goodies with you in the mean time since I know I won't be sharing photos of our home until it's perfect. #perfectionistproblems

Second, this outfit has absolutely nothing to do with what I'm about to share but I feel like that's really okay. Since I've already expressed how the lack of creativity is what led to my absence, I've decided to share a few tips that have helped me get back on track to feeling creative. Because for a creative brain like myself, there is nothing worse than feeling uninspired.

O N E | Take a break. | If you are feeling uninspired it probably means that you're overwhelmed, right? So first things first, take a break from what you're doing. Personally, I like to walk my dogs when I'm stressed or feeling overwhelmed. Just do something that doesn't require you to do much of anything. During the walks, I usually am left with tons of creative thoughts and ideas. But perhaps your idea of a break is reading a book or riding a bike. Whatever it is, just do it.

T W O | Meet with friends or other creative brains. | This has been one of the best things for me! I recently just connected with a few local bloggers and photographers. From my meetings and photoshoots with them, we have created content and some really awesome ideas for future posts. It has been great to just talk to other people who understand the concept of being in a creative funk.

T H R E E | Look for inspiration. | If it were up to me, I would spend all of my days walking my dogs, riding horses, and searching antique/thrift stores. Being in a place that literally forces inspiration is key! Maybe you like boutiques or stores like Anthropologie (I love going to both for inspo) just go. Go there and get inspired. And go grab a cup of coffee while you're at it because you're creative juices are about to be flowing...

So those are just a few things that I like to do to help when I'm in a creative funk. Do you try something different? If so, I'd love to know so just let me know below. Have a great Monday!
