A Damn Good Review

it's fri-yay!

Happy Friday, ya cuties! I hope you had a great week so far. It's certainly been a hectic one for us, lots going on in the background with baseball currently. Awaiting some news but in the meantime we've been enjoying a few days together before things picks back up again. But if you could keep us in your prayers, it'd be so appreciated! Anyways I haven't gotten any plans for the weekend in particular, but I will be going to the Bourbon & Boweties sample sale. Which I'm pretty excited about considering I have a slight obsession with arm parties! #sorrynotsorry I'll be sharing along on my IG story too! So follow along at @thegoldengirldiary.

In the mean time, I wanted to share my thoughts with you about a particular skin care line that I have literally grown to love. If you're like me, a twenty-something gal who still has those embarrassing high school-like breakouts then you want to listen up. I thought after I went away to college that my breakouts would stop, but boy I was wrong. They just continued to get worse! I have tried dozens and dozens of products and nothing seemed to work on my over-sensitive skin. It seemed that the more "stuff" was in skin care products, the more it made me break out. Which is why I became so interested in all-natural and simple products! I first heard of Damn Good Face Wash from my blogging friend, Megan over a Pine Barren Beauty.  And I'm so glad I did!

The face wash I am currently using is The Works which contains organic coconut oil, raw honey, raw shea butter, baking soda, bentonite clay, and tea tree essential oil. The Works is a nourishing and moisturizing face wash. Just after the first use, my skin instantly felt soft and smooth. I had been breaking out bad and in a matter of days, it literally cleared it all up.  However, if you're looking for bubbles you won't get that with this wash. The Works is so soft and creamy. It leaves skin feeling even softer and more dewey! It pulls the impurities and toxins out of your skin while also combating blemishes and other irritations. Basically, it's gets praise hands all day. Another thing I love about all of the Damn Good products is that each one is made to order and made from organic ingredients.

Okay so I don't know about you but when I first learned that the Damn Good Oil was the moisturizer, I was so worried. Again, I have such sensitive skin so I was super skeptical prior to using. And honestly, after I used The Works I wasn't even sure if I needed a moisturizer since the face wash left my skin feeling so soft. But I gave it a try and I absolutely love it! I don't think I'll ever love another moisturizer like I love this one. I have a feeling this is another factor that  helped cure my breakouts when I first started using the Damn Good products. The tea tree and lemon essential oils help with oily and acne-prone skin while the nourishing oils hydrate, promote healing, and help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. So basically it is everything you are looking for in a moisturizer if you have acne-prone skin!

So if there is a product that is me, it is this one! I am such a coffee lover that I feel like I could take a bath in this stuff. That's how good it smells! I use it as my exfoliant, although Damn Good does make facial exfoliants as well. But I use it once or twice a week and it basically scrubs away dead skin cells and any other unwanted nonsense! Since it's coffee it also contains caffeine which also helps with inflammation. I haven't had to use this as much because like I said, my skin has literally transformed since I began using Damn Good products. I think that in and of itself speaks volumes!

Last but not least is The Benny: Damn Good Clay. This can be used as a full mask or a spot treatment. Like I said, I was breaking out badly when I started using the Damn Good products so I only had to use this once. I began with The Works Face Wash >> The Coffee Scrub >> The Benny >> The Problem Child. And it worked like a charm because I have not had a break out since! The Benny will arrive in powder form, so you just have to mix it with equal parts water or ACV to activate. The Benny is used to absorb impurities and toxins, unclog and shrink pores, clear up breakouts and prevent new ones, and also to even out skin tone.

So if you're like me and tired of the breakouts, I suggest you give this a try!
