First Friday | May 2017

So I might've skipped last month's edition of First Friday, but I was hoping no one noticed and I'm pretty sure no one did. {insert laughing emoji}. I can never really tell if these First Friday posts are good for y'all or not. So I'm asking for your feedback again! Just wanted to throw it out there that feedback is the best thing to give me. Like this post last week when I specifically asked what y'all wanted to see on here. Now I'm able to still include style posts but also specialized posts that you're asking for! So good or bad, I'd always love to hear your thoughts. Plus, it means a lot to me to see people take the time to comment on my posts.

O N E // A quick peak inside our home.

Just giving a warning that decorating a home is a marathon, not a sprint. So just beware that our home is pretty bare and not how I was hoping it would be when sharing it for the first time on here. But y'all asked, so here it is. Most of our decor in the photos was given to us for wedding presents, but the little things here and there I have found from local antique/thrift stores. Which I can't stress it enough, GO TO YOUR LOCAL SPOTS! You'll find stuff and more often than not, you'll get it for a steal. Almost all of the furniture photographed was purchased after we moved here. If you're local to Columbia, SC and would like to check them out I usually go to: Refind, Ivy House and Blythewood Consignment. I have heard that there are some other great antique spots too in Ridgeway so you better believe I'll be going there to check them out too! There is also an online auction that I've just heard of called RH Lee too.

T W O // I found an amazing photographer!

So you've probably noticed that the style of my photos has changed quite a bit (in a good way). Since baseball season has stolen my husband from me, I have been searching for a photographer that could capture my style perfectly! And y'all, I hit the freaking jackpot. Shooting with Ebonn has been nothing but fun. And I know y'all have been loving her work too because I've been receiving SO many dang comments about my photos! All the credit goes to this gal.

So if you're looking for a great account to follow head here to see what other beautiful shots Ebonn has captured. Also, if you live in the Columbia area or are just stopping through and are looking for a photographer, head here to get in touch with Ebonn. I can't say enough good things about her!

T H R E E // This was my most popular blog post.

..And for good reason because OFF THE STINKING SHOULDER TOPS RULE THE WORLD. At least they rule my world! I literally can't get enough of them. Case in point: this post, this post, this post, this post AND this post. ALL IN ONE MONTH. The addiction is real but I'm not even mad about it. Let's not forget that this look also includes all of my favorites and all of the ITEMS that I swear by. If there's one thing that you've learned from me it's gotta be that accessories can make or break an outfit. So if you're looking for a pop of color to add to an outfit chances are that I'll suggest turquoise. Did you have another favorite post? I'd love to know!

So maybe you heard, maybe you haven't, but Instagram is really causing some issues for business owners like myself. I'm assuming you've heard complaints about the algorithm and basically that it's significantly lowering who can see our posts. But y'all didn't disappoint with this post and you really showed lots of love on it which I am super grateful for! One thing you can do if you're not seeing all of my posts is turn on your post notifications for my account. It'll give you notifications (which won't happen that often! I typically post once a day at most and I don't post every day of the week) of when I have a new Insta post up. Like blog posts, I don't want to bombard you with tons of information and posts. I'd rather show y'all great quality posts over quantity, that's always been my motto! I'll also always share on my Instagram story when a new post is live, just in case!

F I V E // this is my favorite top.

Well it was quite lengthy but I hope I didn't lose ya along the way. If you have any questions or comments about any of the items shown/discussed above, or even just any questions in general please feel free to leave a comment below! It's always good to hear feedback from y'all and I really enjoy reading (and responding) to each and every blog comment. Anyways, I've got lots of projects planned for the weekend so I know I'll be a busy little bee. Have a great Friday and a Happy Cinco de Mayo!
