How I Curl My Hair

It's Monday, but not just any Monday!

It's the first EVER video to hit The Golden Girl Diary. I'm a visual learner so I'm hoping this will help! When I started this blog, I would've never expected anyone to take interest in my hair or make-up. I think I do an 'okay' job with both so I was so flattered when you all started asking about them! As soon as I cut my hair, I received an overwhelming amount of attention regarding my curls. So here it is! Instructional steps are below the video. Lastly, it took me exactly 16:08 to do this hair style, so it's not super fast but definitely doable when in a rush.

S T E P  O N E | I section my hair in half. (Note: I use this leave-in treatment the night before I plan to curl my hair + this curling serum after each shower. I find it helps keep my hair smooth and shiny too!) I use these clips to separate and keep my hair out of the way.

S T E P  T W O | Begin to curl away from your face + THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO REMEMBER TO ACHIEVE THIS LOOK. I like to get as close to my scalp as possible and then curl my hair around the iron but slightly opening up the handle with each twist. I continue to jiggle my handle until all of my hair is around the curling iron (even the ends)! Since my hair is short, I use the 3/4" Hot Tools curling iron. When my hair is long, I use the 1" or 1 1/2" curling iron by One 'n Only. Just remember to curl your hair away from your face. The smaller the section the better! The curls will remain intact longer! *TIP: When curling the top portion, I like to roll straight down, it creates a more voluminous curl*

S T E P  T H R E E | Shake out and comb through your curls with your fingers. I like to do this just to see if there are any pieces that might need to be re-curled. Don't worry about the hair along the back of your neck either (They are really difficult to curl AND no one can see them)!

S T E P  F O U R | Spritz with Salon Evolve Stay Spray {insert praise hand emoji} because this stuff is THE BEST! I lightly spray this volumizing hair spray for a great hold. But don't go crazy, because if you do over-do it then it weighs your hair down thus making your curls fall quickly!

Well, that's all I got. So if you have absolutely ANY questions please just let me know in the comments or you can e-mail me directly at Have a great day!
