How to Style a Sweater Vest

We are just rolling through September, which makes me sad and happy all at the same time. I'm getting into sweaters more now that it's starting to feel like fall in Pennsylvania, but there are still a handful of warm days ahead of us. Check out some of these tips that I have for styling a sweater vest.

O N E | Pair with a fitted top | Whether you are wearing a fitting tank or long sleeve shirt my suggestion is to wear a top that is fitted.  Especially if the sweater vest is more of a relaxed fit! It'll show just the right curves, but also hide the ones you might be more hesitant to show (like me). I'm typically into loose clothing so this outfit was a bit of a stretch for me, but the vest covering my mid section/hips definitely helped with the insecurities that I have.

T W O | Accessorize | Don't be afraid to have fun with your accessories! If you were to take away the accessories of this outfit and looked at each of the pieces individually you'd see that each piece is very simple. Even though I am not wearing a long necklace, you could totally pair one with this outfit. It would compliment the length of the sweater vest so beautifully! The key for an outfit this simple is to add some statement jewelry to finish off the look.

T H R E E | Choose a neutral color | So you want to buy a sweater vest, but you aren't sure what color? Check out a few of my favorite picks below! I chose neutral sweater vests so you could mix and match with whatever tops you please. I paired my navy sweater vest with a striped navy tank, but it would also pair well with a contrasting color like red or green!
