Nell + Rose Try On // Part I
Hey y’all! It’s been a minute (or about 100 in the blogging world) since I’ve been on here. With all that we have going on, it’s been so difficult to get on here and publish content as frequently as I once did. But I am working on it.. we’ll see how it goes.
If you follow me on Instagram (which is where I try to stay the most active and connect with y’all) then you’ve seen the three part series try-on haul with Nell + Rose. I received SO much good stuff from N+R that I decided it’d probably be a good idea to share it all on here for all of the non-Instagram users. I’m going to share it with you as I did in on Instagram in three separate blog posts. These first couple items are my personal favorites and the items that I’ve worn the most since I received my N+R order.
I’ve had a few people ask me about boutique clothing and why I’m a big advocate of boutique clothing. Don’t get me wrong, I shop frequently at Anthropologie, Madewell, Free People, and Nordstrom. But when it comes to finding trendy pieces that won’t break the bank I always love to check out boutiques. As some of you may know, I began my career (if you will call it that) when I was about 15 years old. I worked in a local gift boutique that sold SO many different varieties of products. To this day, I do believe that it where most of my knowledge regarding buying and all of the goodness has stemmed from. Now I did study Fashion Merchandising & Management in college, but everything I did in school directly corresponded to the actual work I did in the boutique. With all of that being said, I am big advocate for supporting and shopping small businesses. So that is a big part in why I choose to work with boutiques more closely than big box stores or focusing on LTKit. When putting my energy into LTKit (to get recognized by big box stores) I will simply be a number. The blogging industry especially in regards to style is extremely oversaturated. So for me since I’m an advocate for small businesses I’d much rather support another woman in accomplishing her goals as well. I hope that makes sense to y’all. I always feel like I have to say it, but when you shop small you are directly supporting a family.
So let’s get started with the fun stuff! Today’s pieces are the items that I’ve worn the most frequently and I’ll explain a little more why I love them below each item.
THE COLETTE SKIRT
I have really been interested in skirts more and more as of lately. Sometimes dresses although easier can be more of a bother to me. I love how much more breezy and just comfortable a skirt is, especially in this humid South Carolina heat. This was the first item I reached for when I got my N+R package and I’ve worn it numerous times since. It’s a black and ivory striped skirt that’ll go with just about anything. You can dress it up or dress it down casually with some sneakers, since that is also a popular trend right now. Below you can see some additional ways that I’ve styled this skirt. Just also know there are so many more additional ways to style the skirt, too! The material is also a good weight (not too light where it would be transparent with movement) but also not too heavy. The waist features a tie feature so you can adjust it to fit you just perfectly.

THE HAVEN SHORTS
Okay, so I am SUPER particular about shorts. I very rarely wear them just because they are always such a bother to me. They are either too short or I’m constantly pulling them down because they ride up and bother me even more. But these are a short gem! The color is more of a natural linen that’ll go with anything and everything. I mean that quite literally! As you can see below, I’ve style the shorts various ways with different tops. Some of the tops are also from N+R so if you have any questions about them just let me know. I’m wearing a small in all of the tops, too. I even wore these shorts with a bathing suit (see the blue top below) and a tankini top! How cute are they together?! I absolutely love them! In the above photos I paired the shorts with the Eve Cami from N+R. It’s a gorgeous olive color that’ll transition beautifully into fall!

THE EVERYDAY V-NECK IN BLUSH
If you’re like me and you just love all of the comfy things then this tank is for you! I’ve worn it styled to go-out for a day of errands, but also with some loungewear around the house. The color is quite honestly my favorite color. It’s a gorgeous dusty rose color that’ll go with lots of things. Wear it now and wear it later.

THE TATUM ROMPER
Here again you’ll see that I’ve paired this lightweight jumper (which is perfect for this SC weather to wear now and into the fall) with the Everyday V-Neck. It’s so good! If you want a comfy outfit that you don’t have to think about, check out any of the looks I’ve styled below. Jumpers/Overalls are a favorite of mine because they are just comfortable. You don’t have to worry about your backside falling out. You are quite literally covered..which is a plus in my book. Once the heat breaks and cooler weather is here to stay, slip into your favorite thermal and throw on this jumper. Easy outfit that quickly transitions into fall.
