TGGD XX Luca + Danni

Well hello there, beautiful and happy Friday!

Today I'll be sharing one of my favorite jewelry brands with you known as Luca + Danni. Let me just start off by saying this: the products are born in the USA. If that doesn't intrigue you, I'm not sure what will! I am always more inclined to purchase products that have a story and are not only designed but manufactured in American soil. #AmericanPride. So let me tell you a little bit about Luca + Danni's story so hopefully you too will grow to love them just as much as I do! It's a story that I'm sure just about all of us can relate to in some way.

It all began 64 years ago when the Magnanimi family of Rhode Island created a jewelry business. As you may already know, Rhode Island is known as the jewelry hub of the world and is responsible for manufacturing around 80% of the country's costume jewelry. The business had thrived when it was first created, but as the market changed so did the businesses' success. Like most Americans, sickness struck this family very unexpectedly. There were two brothers, Fred and Danny, that often spent time discussing their aspirations to rejuvenate the family business. While Danny was battling Leukemia, he expressed his desires to create a new jewelry line to help bring the families business back to life.  Even after Danny’s death, Fred’s father suffered severe health complications from the stress and shock that nearly cost him his life the following day after Danny's passing. It was then that Fred realized it was time to leave his NYC job and head home to Rhode Island to take over the family business. Alas, Luca + Danni was born!

Luca + Danni is name after Fred's two young children and launched in August of 2014. Since then, the brand has skyrocketed to success and became a nationally sought after accessory line. Luca + Danni is currently sold in 900+ retail stores in North America. Rewind just a bit to when Fred was banking in NYC: he believed in the notion that you could tell a lot about a person by seeing what sort of a watch they wore. With women’s jewelry and bracelets in particular, he didn’t see the same concept being applied. And if you know anything about women's jewelry trends, you know that stacks of bracelets are on trend! He thought of the concept that if a woman wore a bracelet then the primary purpose is to display the meaning of the piece. There is no better place to display that meaning hen right on top! It was this idea that launched Luca + Danni. Each Luca + Danni bracelet features a design or charm of some sort that lays directly on the top of the bracelet. And what is even more exciting is that even though the brand has experienced tremendous growth that the family still manages to e designed and manufactured all L+D products right in the same family factory.

As you may recall, I worked in a local boutique in Pennsylvania that sold Luca + Danni. I knew there was a story behind this company but didn't know exactly what the story was. Now that I know, I appreciate the concept of the jewelry so much more than I had before! Lastly, I'd just like to point out that whether you have one or eight Luca + Danni bracelets: it doesn't matter! The bracelets are magnificent and look beautiful stacked or solo. Hope you enjoyed the L+D story! Have a safe and happy weekend!
