The Best of 2017

Well, hello there! It's been a little since I've published a post on here. I decided to take a much needed break over the holiday week and it has me feeling so refreshed and full of new ideas. During my little blog vacation, we visited friends in Charleston, celebrated our first Christmas together in our new home, and attended a wedding in Durham. So it's safe to say that even though I was on a blogging vacation, it was still pretty busy!

So I thought it'd be fun to share some of the 'bests' of 2017 with you today. If there's a post that didn't make this list that you enjoyed, let me know in the comments below. Also, if there is any particular content you're interested in seeing this year just let me know.

the best instagram posts

So first let me start by saying that it is crazy to look at the growth from the beginning of 2017 to the end. During this year, I began working with a local photographer turned friend, Ebonn. The first few photos in this grid were taken by Christian, with our super basic lens. So it's actually really surprising to me that they made the #2017bestnine. Not to take anything away from Christian, cause he has and continues to do a great job. We both continue to learn more about blogging and photography everyday. But when those photos were taken we just didn't have a sweet lens like we do now! This year on Instagram the algorithm changed drastically, too. Maybe you've noticed, maybe you haven't. I sure have though! It's certainly been a struggle for me, but it's something that I'm working on for 2018. That resolution is to stop focusing on things (platforms, specifically) that I cannot control and to bring more of y'all to my blog! My blog is the only platform I own and that I can fully control. So I hope that y'all find my content interesting enough to take the time out of your day to read it.

One of my favorite outfits and photographs to date! This was the very first time I worked with Ebonn and I knew the moment we started that it was going to be a good match! Simple outfits are usually my go-to. I always like to make an outfit 'fun' with my accessories! This outfit is an example of just that. Plus, it includes my favorite (and ever so popular!) leopard clutch!

The Golden Girl Diary turns two! When I actually think about it, I still can't believe that I've been blogging for 2+ years. It initially started as just a hobby; an outlet for my creativity. I quickly learned that I could do something that I loved while being my own boss. Check out more of the post below.

It's safe to say y'all loved this top! I mean, it is a super cute top. I've always been drawn to hues of blues and this post will give you all of the outfit inspiration you could need.

This outfit was one of my personal favorites of the year. An all neutral look with classic pieces? Count me in. Most of the items in this look are still available, too. So make sure you check out the full blog post by clicking the button below.

I got reposted by

..Which is basically a goal of just about every blogger. In case blogging (and how we make money) is new to you, shopping through my affiliate links is what keeps my blog going. Yes, I have sponsored posts that provide compensation. But the best way you can support me is by engaging in my content and shopping my links! So when I got reposted by, it converted into lots of growth (meaning I got more followers) and commission (meaning my followers loved the content and purchased an item that I linked)! It's something so small, but by engaging on my content is honestly what keeps me going! It confirms that I'm doing something right! So thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting me thus far.

we became homeowners..

It was one of the most exciting yet scary memories of the year! Being a baseball wife comes a lot of work and uncertainty. I know I mentioned how crazy our Spring Training was this past year, so the process of literally moving all of our belongings and settling on a home I did alone. But I did it and we couldn't be happier in our home!

Playoffs, here we come.

Well, let me just start by saying that his guy had an AMAZING year. He got called up and made the playoff roster. I couldn't be prouder of him and I cannot wait to watch him kill it this 2018 season! I'm really hoping for a healthy and successful 2018, where this guy gets a real opportunity to play ball.

we got to enjoy lots of gamecock football.

It's something we've been most excited for since moving to South Carolina. We both enjoy watching sports, so we've been loving that we are able to go to football and basketball games. I even get to go to some baseball games, however it's certainly not the same without this guy (and his teammates from 2010-2012) on the field.

I'd love to know some of YOUR best moments from 2017! Make sure to leave a comment below! Happy New Year, loves!
