The Latest Beauty Favorites
Well, we made it through another week and to be honest it has not been the best week for me. As you may (or may not) know, my husband plays baseball for a living. We had quite the chaotic spring training, and by we I primarily mean him. He got designated for assignment (which probably doesn't make sense to you if you're not familiar with baseball lingo) which can be a good or a bad thing. Through spring, he has gotten DFA'ed four times and is now with the Arizona Diamondback organization. He has never been with an organization that resides on the other side of the country so instead of traveling with him for the season like I normally would be doing, I'll be hanging back at our home in South Carolina. So bear with me as I come to terms with the fact that I'll pretty much continue to be husband-less for the next six months. #nothappyaboutit But that's just a little something on a personal level and it may not seem like a big deal..but to me, it is. It's difficult to share things that happen with him regarding baseball because I know it doesn't necessarily resonate with all of my readers. However, it's something that I feel like is going to get me feeling low so I'm just throwing it out there in advance!
On a more positive note, I wanted to share some of my current favorites regarding the beauty department! I have pretty much always valued all-natural products. There's something to say about products that just don't have any added nonsense. Not to mention, they are A LOT better for you. Which is why I wanted to share a few of my favorites that I swear by! I recently shared a pretty detailed review of Damn Good Face Wash so I will not put you through a novel again! DGFW is an organic/all-natural brand that is made to order and in her own kitchen..how cool is that!? You can check out the full post on DGFW here!
Next, since I have been wearing less and less make-up since we moved I have been wearing L'eclisse pressed mineral foundation. I'm usually not one for powder/mineral foundations because I just feel like I have more scars to cover. But boy, does this mineral foundation work wonders. First let's talk about what it's made out of: mica, rosemary leafs, and soybean oil. I have found when I use powder foundation, it makes my skin appear dry. If I apply my DGFW The Problem Child oil on prior to applying, the foundation sets nicely! It's definitely not a full-coverage look, but it is perfect for everyday wear. I have been carrying it with me in my on-the-go cosmetic case just in case I need to do a touch up and I like I said, I have been loving it.
When it comes to lip care, I'm usually pretty neglectful. I use various lip balms to keep my lips moisturized. Previously, I have used Lush's lip scrub but I'm kinda falling off of the wagon. So if you have an lip scrub recommendations let me know down in the comments because I'm on the hunt! Back to business though, L'eclisse also sent me some lip gloss as well. I have the diamond shimmer that I can pair with just about any lip color and the shade Rubedo. And that shade is the perfect nude! It is not sticky at all which is a huge win for me! I was loving Tarte's lip paint for awhile because it literally goes on like butter. The downside, most of the shades they offered were matte so if I wanted a glossy finish I'd have to add another layer. The L'eclisse Rubedo is perfect just on it's own! And the lip gloss is made with coconut oil, shea butter, botanical, essential oils and natural pigments. #nojunk
